More Movies...

The son and I recently went to see the latest John Wicks movie, Ballerina.  I don't really know what exactly I was expecting, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  The movie stars Ana de Armas (lead actor),  Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane.  Though there was a lot of violence in it, I was definitely surprised by the fact that the action was from start to finish.  I must say I did enjoy the movie better than I thought I would.  If you like movies packed full of action from start to finish, I highly recommend Ballerina.  If you would like more information about this movie, click this link.

The next movie up comes out July 2, Jurassic World:  Rebirth.  That is one I am definitely looking forward to seeing.  After that, Superman premieres on July 11th, and then there's the Fantastic Four movie coming out on July 25th.

Going To The Movies...

My son and I went to the movies this past Saturday to see Sinners.  Truthfully, I wasn't into going, but after I saw the movie, I'm glad I went.  The movie, which lasted for just over 2 hours, stars Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfield, Miles CatonJack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaky, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, Delroy Lindo, and Li Jun Li.  Ryan Coogler was the co-producer and director.

The movie takes place in 1932 with Michael B. Jordan playing twin brothers who return from Chicago to the Mississippi Delta to start over.  They open up a dance hall for the local black community with the music based on the blues.  The son of the local minister is their cousin who is very talented in singing and playing the blues and joins the twins in setting up things.  Unfortunately things turn sour when people are starting to be attacked by vampires.  The only survivors are the cousin and one of the twins, who later is shot by a member of the KKK.  The movie ends in 1992 with the cousin sitting in a Chicago bar after one of his successful shows.

The movie is very much worth watching and I recommend it.

Mother Nature has health issues...

First off, let it be known I'm not a fan of cold temperatures!  This alternating between 50-60 degrees and single digits can go somewhere else!  I live in an older home and what insulation there is isn't much.  When it's cold outside, it's cold inside.  It's a good thing it's almost March - I can use with a bit of spring weather.  Though I have heard that there will be a cold spell in March.

Lexington ComicCon is coming up in a couple of weeks.  There are a few stars that interest me, though I've met them before...Lou Diamond Phillips, Danny Trejo and William Shatner.  The only one I've not had my picture with is Shatner.  Since I'm not sure if he is going to do selfies at his table, they will probably be very high if he does.  Which means I may not get my picture with him this year.

    Until next time...
